But on Saturday and Sunday — when the Sprint and Grand Prix action intensifies — ordinary vehicular access through the lane becomes much tighter, with the A-Lane available only from **midnight until 1pm**. Normal arrangements gradually return after the race, with access windows reopening on October 12 before all affected roads reopen at 5.30am on October 13. Taxis and motorcycles have broader access to the lane, although they cannot use it during Formula 1 track-activity hours. ## These Major Roads Will Be Affected Among the roads affected around the circuit are **St Andrew’s Road, Esplanade Drive, Raffles Boulevard, Republic Boulevard, Raffles Avenue and Bayfront Avenue**. Authorities will temporarily reopen selected corridors during weekday peak periods to ease pressure on commuters. Importantly for visitors who still intend to drive into the district, car parks at **Suntec City, Millenia Walk and Marina Square will remain open**. ## MRT Services Will Run Later During F1 Weekend For most racegoers, however, public transport is likely to be the simpler option. LTA is strongly encouraging both members of the public and F1 ticket holders to use trains and buses while the restrictions are in place. Train operating hours will be extended on all three race days. The final North-South Line and East-West Line trains departing **City Hall MRT station** are scheduled for **12.30am on October 9 and 10**, while the final departure on race night, October 11, will be pushed to **12.45am**. Operating hours on other rail lines will also be extended, with the exception of the Changi Airport service. Selected feeder bus services from MRT stations will operate later as well. ## 37 SBS Transit Bus Services Will Be Affected The disruption extends beyond motorists. SBS Transit said **37 of its bus services** will be affected by the Formula 1 traffic arrangements. From October 6 to 12, 36 services will skip selected stops along their regular routes because of closures around locations including **Nicoll Highway, Beach Road, Collyer Quay and Marina Centre**. Service 681 will also be diverted, although it will not skip any stops. Service 195 will see temporary changes to its originating and terminating stops. Bus passengers should also note that arrival information for diverted services may be unavailable while the temporary arrangements are in force. ## Taking a Taxi After F1? There’s Another Cost to Know About Racegoers considering taxis after the evening action should factor in an additional charge. From **9.30pm to midnight on October 9, 10 and 11**, an extra **S$8 surcharge** will apply to metered taxi journeys beginning from designated locations around the race precinct.
