Two Dogs ‘Drive’ Toy Jeep Through Jurong West, Winning Singaporeans’ Hearts
SINGAPORE — Two Yorkshire Terriers have become an unlikely internet sensation after being spotted cruising side by side in a motorised toy Jeep along a pavement in Jurong West.
The unusual sight was captured by a passer-by on Sunday morning, Sept. 6, who initially thought children were riding in the miniature vehicle. A closer look revealed two small dogs apparently enjoying the ride instead.
A Sunday morning surprise
The dogs were travelling slowly in a miniature Jeep outside Jurong Point at around 8.30am, according to the man who filmed the video.
The red toy vehicle was hard to miss. It was decorated with Singapore flags and fitted with an umbrella, while the dogs sat side by side as it moved along the pavement.
Their owner walked closely behind them, stopping the vehicle whenever pedestrians crossed their path.
The person who filmed the scene, 42-year-old Dennis, told local media that he had just finished a night shift and was waiting for a delivery order when he noticed the unusual vehicle across the road.
What initially looked like a child's ride turned into a much more unexpected discovery.
‘It made my day’
Dennis described the scene as amusing because it was something he rarely encountered.
The video was posted on TikTok on Sept. 6 with the caption describing it as the "cutest Sunday morning". By Tuesday afternoon, it had attracted more than 123,000 views.
The sight also prompted plenty of playful reactions online.
One commenter jokingly described the dogs as "suspicious drivers" with no licence or helmet, while another compared them to Paw Patrol heading out on duty.
Not everyone was amused
While many viewers found the dogs adorable, others raised concerns about their safety.
Some commenters questioned whether it was appropriate for the animals to travel in a motorised toy vehicle, with one saying they would not put their own pets in what they considered a potentially dangerous situation.
Another viewer said they did not find the video funny at all.
The contrasting reactions highlight how quickly a seemingly harmless viral moment can spark debate over pet safety and responsible ownership.

For now, the two Yorkshire Terriers appear to have achieved what few commuters manage on a Sunday morning: stopping people in their tracks and taking over social media.
