BLACKPINK’s Lisa Is Heading Back to Singapore Cinemas — But Fans Only Have Three Days to See Her Most Personal Story Yet

SINGAPORE — BLACKPINK’s Lisa is preparing to give fans a rare look behind the superstar image as her first feature-length solo documentary, Always Lalisa, heads to Singapore cinemas this October.

The documentary will screen on Oct 12, Oct 14 and Oct 17 at selected Golden Village locations, including Cineleisure and Century Square, as well as across Shaw Theatres outlets. Selected Shaw screenings will also be available in IMAX, with ticket prices starting from S$22, according to CNA Lifestyle.

For millions of BLINKs and Lisa fans, the film promises something different from the usual concert footage and polished celebrity interviews.

Always Lalisa follows Lalisa Manobal during one of the most important periods of her career — a year in which she stepped away from BLACKPINK activities to build an identity as an independent global artist.

What Is ‘Always Lalisa’ About?

Directed by Sue Kim, Always Lalisa documents Lisa's transition from being one-fourth of one of the world's biggest K-pop groups into a solo artist navigating music, acting, business and life outside the constant spotlight of BLACKPINK.

Sony Music Vision says the documentary follows Lisa during a pivotal period when she pursued independence for the first time since childhood, confronting the pressure of launching a solo career while trying to preserve a personal life away from global fame.

The documentary also chronicles major moments from Lisa's solo evolution, including:

• The creation and release of her solo album Alter Ego
• Her acting debut in HBO's The White Lotus Season 3
• Her preparations for a major solo performance at Coachella 2025
• Her efforts to build a career and identity beyond BLACKPINK
• The personal and professional pressures of becoming an independent global star

The film is set to make its world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival before expanding to cinemas and IMAX venues worldwide.

Singapore Fans Get a Limited Window

The Singapore screenings are currently scheduled for only three dates: Oct 12, 14 and 17. CNA Lifestyle reported that it was not yet clear whether additional screening dates would be added.

Shaw Theatres has already listed Always Lalisa as an advance title, while available listings show IMAX screenings among the Singapore options.

The limited run could make the documentary one of the more anticipated cinema events for Singapore's K-pop community this October.

A Global Release Before YouTube Premium Streaming

Singapore is part of a larger worldwide rollout for Always Lalisa.

Sony Music Vision announced that the documentary will open in IMAX and cinemas worldwide beginning Oct 12 through Trafalgar Releasing. Following its theatrical run, the film will stream globally and exclusively on YouTube Premium later in 2026.

Tickets for the international theatrical release were scheduled to go on sale from Sept 9 through the film's official channels.

Lisa's Career Is Entering Another Major Chapter

The documentary arrives during an exceptionally busy period for Lisa.

Beyond her work with BLACKPINK, the Thai superstar has expanded rapidly into acting, fashion, business and global entertainment. Her role as Mook in The White Lotus Season 3 marked her acting debut, and she is also attached to Netflix's upcoming action film Tygo.

Lisa was also named an ambassador for Thailand's tourism campaign earlier this year, highlighting her growing influence beyond music.

And there is more music on the way.

Lisa is scheduled to release her new EP, Press Play, on Oct 23, with the project set to include six tracks. CNA reported that its lead single, Sawadika, had already generated major online attention following its release.
