Looking for a Job? DOLE Davao del Norte to Hold Job Fair in Tagum on Sept. 14
TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte — Jobseekers looking for new opportunities will have another chance to connect directly with employers as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Davao del Norte holds a job fair in Tagum City on September 14, 2026.
The “Handog ng Pangulo: Job Fair 2026” will be held at the Atrium Hall of Tagum City Hall, according to DOLE Davao del Norte.
The event is being organized in partnership with the City Government of Tagum and its Public Employment Services and Capability Development Office (CPESCDO), under DOLE's Trabaho Agad program.
The goal is straightforward: bring jobseekers and employers together in one venue and make the hiring process more accessible.
Jobseekers can connect directly with employers
For applicants, the Tagum job fair provides an opportunity to submit applications, meet recruiters and learn about available positions without having to visit companies individually.
DOLE Davao del Norte is encouraging interested applicants to come prepared with multiple copies of their resumes and other pertinent employment documents.
Applicants should also make sure their resumes contain updated contact information, educational background, work experience and relevant skills.
Those who already have employment credentials or certificates relevant to their desired positions should bring copies as well.
Tagum has become a key venue for employment initiatives
The upcoming job fair is part of a broader series of employment and career-development activities being conducted by DOLE Davao del Norte and its local government partners.
The agency previously participated in the 3rd Tagum City Career Expo 2026 on August 3 and 4, an event designed particularly to help graduating Senior High School students explore education and career options.
The two-day career expo brought together 34 school exhibitors and seven national government agencies, giving students access to career guidance and information before entering the workforce.
DOLE officials also emphasized the importance of helping young people develop a resilient career mindset as they prepare for changes in the labor market.
Previous DOLE job fairs produced hundreds of hires
The September 14 event also comes after several large-scale employment initiatives in the Davao Region earlier this year.
During DOLE's Labor Day job fairs in May, the agency registered 3,188 jobseekers, with 348 applicants hired on the spot and another 481 classified as near-hires, according to SunStar's report.
At the June 12 Independence Day job fair, meanwhile, 116 applicants were hired on the spot out of 920 applicants, with around 2,300 vacancies offered.
DOLE's One-Stop Shop services also assisted more than 1,100 applicants with pre-employment document processing involving agencies such as SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG and the National Bureau of Investigation.
Those figures demonstrate why government-organized job fairs remain an important avenue for Filipinos seeking employment.
What should jobseekers bring?
Applicants planning to attend the Tagum job fair should come prepared.
DOLE specifically advises interested jobseekers to bring:
- Multiple copies of an updated resume
- Employment-related credentials and documents
- Certificates or training records relevant to the position being applied for
- Educational records and other supporting documents, when available
- A valid identification card, if required by participating employers
Applicants should also dress appropriately for an interview because some employers may conduct screening or interviews during the event.
Coming early can also help applicants avoid long queues and give them more time to check the participating employers and available positions.

DOLE's previous activities have included government service desks and employment-related assistance, allowing applicants to address some of their pre-employment requirements while exploring job opportunities.
In a previous Tagum job fair, DOLE and the Tagum City Government also coordinated services for first-time jobseekers, including assistance related to employment clearances. That 2025 event attracted 21 participating employers and offered 1,570 vacancies, showing the scale that employment activities in the city can reach.

For unemployed Filipinos, fresh graduates and workers searching for better opportunities, job fairs can shorten the distance between an application and an actual interview.
But applicants should not treat the event as simply a place to hand out resumes.
