SINGAPORE — Formula 1 fans in Singapore are being offered a rare chance to step behind the scenes of one of motorsport’s biggest events, with 4,500 people set to gain access to the Marina Bay Street Circuit’s pit lane ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix 2026.
Singapore GP has opened a public ballot for the Thursday Pit Lane Experience, scheduled for Oct. 8, one day before the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix officially begins. Successful applicants will be able to walk along the pit lane, get close to Formula 1 team garages and cars, and explore parts of the Zone 1 F1 Village.
A Rare Look Behind the F1 Curtain
The experience gives fans an opportunity to see the world of Formula 1 before the Marina Bay Street Circuit transforms into a full-scale race venue.
Participants can expect a behind-the-scenes glimpse of race preparations, access to the pit lane environment and interactive activities during the evening. Each successful applicant will receive a pair of passes, meaning thousands of motorsport fans could share the experience with a friend or family member.
Who Can Enter?
The ballot is open exclusively to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. Participants do not need to hold Singapore Grand Prix race tickets to enter the ballot.
Applications opened on Sept. 2 at 10 a.m. Singapore time and will close on Sept. 18 at 11:59 p.m. The event itself will take place on Thursday, Oct. 8.
F1 Fever Builds Across Singapore
The pit lane experience is part of Singapore’s growing buildup to the 2026 Grand Prix, which will run from Oct. 9 to Oct. 11.
F1 fever is already spreading beyond the race circuit. Singapore has hosted several fan-focused events, while the Formula 1 Exhibition at Gardens by the Bay offers visitors a journey through the sport’s history, featuring legendary cars, rare artefacts, race suits, helmets and racing simulators.
The Grand Prix weekend will also feature a major entertainment lineup, with performers including The Killers, Lana Del Rey, JJ Lin, Goo Goo Dolls, Janet Jackson, Mark Ronson and DJ Snake, adding to the spectacle surrounding one of Formula 1’s most iconic night races.
The Catch: Only 4,500 Will Get In
For many fans, walking through an F1 pit lane and seeing team operations up close is normally an experience reserved for premium ticket holders and industry insiders.
This time, however, thousands have a chance to enter through a public ballot.
But with only 4,500 places available, competition is likely to be intense.
As Singapore prepares for another electrifying Formula 1 weekend, one question now remains: Will you be among the lucky fans who get to step inside the pit lane before the engines roar?
